I am enjoying a wonderful time with my grandchildren in New York, and just realized I need to get a newsletter off to let everyone know what is coming up for me.

I just completed the last session of my Shamanic Egyptian Alchemy class for the Shift Network. The feedback in the final share was amazing. If you were in the class, thank you for your participation. It feels as though we accomplished more than I could have wished for, and I'm sure that I learned as much as you did. Deep gratitude also to Mark, Indigo and Debbie for their support throughout, for Colleen for being a great host, and for Nadirah, who managed the course for Shift and kept all the loose ends tied. And finally, my beloved staff, Ellis and Safia, were indispensable.

Possible Classes, Sessions, and Mentoring

I have been asked to teach another Sekhmet, Transformation in the Belly of the Goddess class, as well as Alchemical Healing. I can probably do one in late February and/or March, so please let me know which one appeals to you most, as I don't know yet whether I will do both.

Meanwhile, Mark and I are taking my retirement seriously, and plan to take six weeks to travel south at the beginning of the New Year, taking our time driving and visiting friends along the way, then spending a month in La Jolla, just hanging out and visiting friends. We have already rented a lovely home near the beach. I might schedule a few private sessions, but mostly I want to hang out with Mark and enjoy the warm weather when it is cold in Eugene. If you live in the area, our gracious home has plenty of room for me to do a few face-to-face private sessions.

I will be taking the month of October off except for private sessions and mentoring that I will be conducting from home, and I think there are still a few times open.

Equinox

Happy Equinox! Whether you are in the northern or southern hemisphere, the equinox is the day when day and night are equal, and if it is fall, as it is here in the US, the nights will continue to lengthen and the days shorten. The date of the fall equinox varies from year to year, and the exact time depends upon what time zone you live in. Although most people tend to think of equinoxes as occurring on the 21st or 22nd, I am currently in New York, where the 2019 equinox will happen at 3:50AM on the 23rd. The further west you go, the earlier it occurs. Alaska and Hawaii will have happened the previous date, September 22.

From a spiritual perspective, fall Equinox marks the season of harvest, when you reap what you have sown. When you look at your life this autumn with this thought in mind, how does the equinox and the coming season reflect the growth and completion of the projects you started or the seeds you planted this past spring for your own personal journey? You can just flip it around if you live south of the Equator: consider carefully what you plan to accomplish in the season to come.

I feel I need to add that with climate change, the natural rhythms are askew, so some results are becoming beyond our control. For example, when Mark was a child in the Pacific Northwest in the 1950s, the crocuses, the flower from which saffron comes from, always bloomed around the spring equinox (AKA Easter). You could count on it; it was consistent. Marked moved away for a period of time and when he returned he could see that every year they were blooming earlier. In our garden we've watched as the timing advanced. In the mid '80s the bloom happened in February. Now and for many years past it blooms in January. Traditionally equinoxes have been an important date for agriculture, during both spring and fall.

The havoc created by climate change is why millions of people gathered around the world Friday, September 20 to demonstrate their concern for the changing climate, and why I am calling for a Planetary Healing Call to Action on the subject.

We are long overdue for a Call to Action and there is much to be done. At the moment, Climate Change seems to be the most important thing we can work on, as most of the major problems that we are seeing are climate related— floods and fires for a start… However if something happens between now and then that requires our attention, we will go with the flow, and are always interested in hearing your suggestions. These calls usually last about an hour. Please let others know so that we will have lots of energy to put into the journey/ceremony that we will create for the occasion.

We will be using Zoom for this call, and you will get an invitation when you register with instructions on how to use it for audio and/or video. It's really easy to use, and allows us to see one another if you have a camera on your phone or computer.

Egyptian Mystery School —The Union of Isis and Thoth

Normandi Ellis and I are excited to share our first mystery school course since three years ago, when my home was ripped apart when an oak tree fell on it. Just as we got it back together we were hit with a major snow storm last year that took out countless trees and we are still recovering. Thankfully, we learned Zoom video/audio technology and can resume teaching together this fall. Every Tuesday, starting at 11AM Pacific for two+ hours we will be teaching how to create and consecrate your personal adydum, your inner heart temple. We will also hearing journeys and initiations to show you various ways that you can use your temple.
