Dear Friends,

The Equinox transition is in full swing. In the southern hemisphere the days are getting shorter and the nights are getting cooler. Conversely here in the north where most of my readers are, the spring bulbs are popping out of the ground while the buds in the trees are swelling so fast one can witness the daily changes even if you're not overly sensitive to nature and its rhythms. Regardless which hemisphere you are in, the equinox storms are not to be ignored. The annual tornado outbreaks are firing up here in the states while the cyclones are smashing into Australia and Mozambique. And yes, the magnitude of everything weather related is changing. (Note: the phrase “Climate Change” will alienate fewer people than the phrase “Global Warming” —The results are plain to see and easy to measure.)

Here in Eugene, the sun has appeared and it feels like spring has finally arrived. We had a couple of fearless, strong friends come up with a winch and pulled up and reset our ancient apple tree, which was the centerpiece of our garden and which had come down from the weight of the snow. Its roots were exposed for a couple of weeks (mostly under the snow), and although it looks good now, the chances of it making it through the trauma are not great, but I felt I had to try to save her.

Whether we are conscious of it or not, we are affected by the storms in Mozambique, the droughts in Africa, the horrendous floods and fires in the US, and the yearly heatwaves that have become deadly both here and in Europe, and the many other climate related catastrophes that don't even make our daily politicized news cycles.

While our attention is being distracted by the political circus or any number of widely broadcast insanities, the subtle stresses from what's happening to our world are mostly obscured by the lack of stability within our own families, workplaces, communities and tribes, and the underlying fear requires our immediate attention. I truly believe that dealing with fear is the first line of defense when facing stress related overwhelm.

Normandi Ellis and I would like to announce the return of our Egyptian Mystery School that we offered in intensive retreats for two decades. Times have changed, so please join us as we shift to live video classes. Although we usually do not have specifics on the mysteries we are teaching until right before the class, we are choosing to focus on building the outer and inner temples and how to use them. Because of the amount of material, information and direct experience required, this course may be given in two parts. Having the textbook will allow us to move more quickly and expand upon the work that is in the book.

Each class will be recorded and is usually sent to all students within 24 hours. I've taught my last several classes this way and those that live in places where the class happens in the middle of the night have been quite pleased to take them via the videos. We will also have a private discussion forum available. I'm announcing this now to let you know that I am serious about retiring. Except for my private sessions and individual and small group mentoring, and of course the Oregon Country Fair, this is the only class I have planned for this year. I hope to enjoy more time with my grandhcildren and treasure every moment with my beloved Mark.
