Despite the chaos happening globally, last weekend Mark and I went to see Dead and Company at Autzen Stadium, and entered a joyfully altered reality. WOW! The magic is alive and well, and the three new players slipped in as though they'd been there for years. Jerry's are hard shoes to fill, but John Meyer did a great job, probably because he simply played himself, and he was respectful and brilliant. Oteil, the bass player/drummer was terrific, and brought Mark to his feet with his first stroke in the drum solo. My favorite addition, though, was the light show (back-lighted from the stage) created spontaneously by Johnathon Singer after hours of preparation for a set that was changed at the last minute. Although it could be said that I'm prejudice because he is a good friend, his art is innovative, improvisational, and I've seen nothing that compares. And then there are the fans— Eugene, as Otiel posted, is the nerve center of the Dead, and the joy, the peace, the kindness and the familial feeling brought back all the best memories of how it was “back in the day!”

photo by Lori Stargrove, NDRetirement for me still includes the OCF, although I will only be directly participating in the Opening Ceremony on Friday morning at 11:30 at the main stage. As she has for the past five years, Indigo has designed a wonderful participatory ceremony. Please join us!

This year we have a new temple at Altared Space. It is being built as I write this, and it will be different, and beautiful in a different way. Fairgoers can expect a larger, more spacious, modern multi-denominational temple that will provide a sweet place of calm and sacred connection within the midst of the cacophony of the Fair. Whether you wish to pray in the temple, meditate in our quiet meditation space, create sacred crafts for children of all ages, receive a healing or altared advice, nurse your child or simply chill for a moment, Altared Space will fill the need for that sacred moment.

Although I am not speaking this year, there are wonderful speakers happening on a number of stages where you can learn new things, and old . . . Check out the fair details online.

Shamanism Global Summit July 10-12, 2018

My friend Michael Stone is hosting this year's Shift Network Shamanism Global Summit, and has brought together a stellar line-up, including yours truly . . . Although many interviews are video, mine is audio only, and will be aired on July 12 at noon. I am focusing on Egyptian shamanism, both ancient and modern, and of course I will take you on a journey to connect directly with at least one Egyptian deity. I will also discuss the shamanic rites of passage that pharaohs were required to accomplish in order to reign with direct access to Source.

Much to my surprise, many people who have taken this class as well as new Sekhmet devotees who wish my guidance through the alchemy in this, my most recent book, are asking for me to offer this video seminar again. Apparently it gets deeper each time, and many of the people who have taken the class don't want to come out once they are in her belly. As promised, I will continue to support all who choose to participate in this work, whether in class or not, and will recommend those who are doing the work to join the forum of people who have done or are still in process with this work. Because of the intimacy of the experiences that are shared, it's a private forum, so you need to be committed to the work and ask for an invitation to join. It is somewhat inactive at the moment, as I have not done a class in several months, however I still check in periodically and will more often as people let me know they are doing the work. Although there is a waiting list for the final Shamanic Journeys, Ltd. tour in September this year, Indigo Rønlov has prepared two for 2019 with her new company, Mysteries of Egypt, LLC. March 1-14, 2019, will be “Becoming the Lotus”, which includes our always surprising deep dive into the ancient mysteries and developing relationships with the neteru, with the addition of a special guest who has been researching the blue lotus, a sacred divine plant that may have had a profound effect when used in certain shamanic rituals. The second is October 11-25, 2019, and will be centered around making relationships with the neteru in order to have direct experience of what the ancient adepts who built the temples and monuments intended for people to understand. An extra day has been added to the October tour in order to give participants a day of R&R to become comfortable in Egypt and to get a jump on jet lag. We found that many people chose to add a day for that purpose, so Indigo chose to include it in the itinerary.

My office will be partially open from Wednesday, July 11 through Tuesday, July 17, however as I am not camping at the Fair, I will be available much of the time. It will be easier to reach me by phone during that time, and all inquiries via email will be answered, although orders will be shipped as soon as the office reopens. If you want a session or are a mentoring student, please make sure that we have our appointments set before I leave for the East Coast August 6, as I am planning family time and will be away until August 18. The office will remain open most of the time while I'm gone.

Meanwhile, I pray for all the children separated from their families, for all those in the path of the fires that are burning, and those suffering from the heat. I also pray for peace and sanity to prevail in our government and throughout the world.
