One would suppose that having a birthday party, even for a 70th, is a little crazy with a broken hip and during the weekend before the Oregon Country Fair, however Mark wanted to throw me a party and the first round of invitations had already gone out just before the hip accident. As it turned out, it was “epic”, and the crew of beautiful friends who turned out to help make it happen was stellar. Several friends sang for us during open mike time before dinner, and then my new favorite band, Blue Lotus, played an amazing set with a big screen psychedelic light show by Johnathon Singer and other lights by John Swan. The food prepared by Linda Wylie and Roland Barker and the ambiance directed by Amanda Starlight, Linda, Sage and the rest of the crew was over-the-top-fabulous. I can't begin to name everyone who stepped up to the plate for this one, but thank you one and all. Oh yes, and the garden— stupendous (thank you Elizabeth, Sara, Zafa, and Paul). Finally I got to share our paradise with such festivities not seen since our wedding!

Blue Lotus on Stage at Nicki's 70th CelebrationI have only two complaints: The first is that I never was able to get all the invitations out to many of the people I love and wanted to share this with, and the second is that many of my friends and family are simply too far away! I am gathering photos for an album that I will post on my Facebook page as soon as I am able.

I did overdo it a bit— When the band struck up Stella Blue, which they learned especially for me, I put down my cane and danced for far too long. I finally had to be helped upstairs at around 2am, but I was grinning ear to ear, and haven't stopped since.

I'm still recuperating, so I will keep the rest of this newsletter brief. The Oregon Country Fair was AMAZING, as usual. Friday morning of the Fair I was driven to the back of Main Stage so that I could participate in the Opening Ceremony, after which I did most of my moving around the Fair in my granddaughter's stroller. Saturday I stayed home and slept, but I was back in action Sunday, co-leading discussion with Bruce Lipton. I haven't found the photos I've been looking for yet, so you'll have to imagine me entering the Rabbit Hole (the space where Bruce and I taught together) on a sedan chair, carried by four fine and muscular men. It was a smooth and delightful ride, and continued after our workshop all the way to Altared Space, where I spent most of the afternoon.

I have three phone/web classes coming right up. The first is Thursday (tomorrow) evening, 6-7:30pm PDT. It's on Forgiveness as a way to Healing and Wholeness. It's based on one of the most important processes in Alchemical Healing, a Guide to Spiritual, Physical, and Transformational Medicine. I first learned this “ho'oponopono” forgiveness process from my teacher Nadia Eagles in my first class with her in 1983. Next Tuesday, July 30 at 6pm Pacific, is The Alchemy of Transforming Fear with the Egyptian God Anubis, the Opener of the Way. He is the underworld guide that is one of the most important in Egypt, and who has been my stalwart protector, guide and teacher throughout my studies of the Egyptian Mysteries. Anubis is known as the Divine Embalmer, and as such is a proficient alchemist. He has shown me how to use the element sulfur in this powerful alchemical process. My program will be based on the chapter Love and Fear in our latest book, Planetary Healing, Spirit Medicine for Global Transformation.

Once fear is cleared is the "purrrfect" time to meet Sekhmet, the lion-headed goddess of Egypt who is the feminine face of the sun. Her name means Power, or Mighty One, and she has become very prominent during this tumultuous time of change. She is the One who is guardian of Ma'at, the goddess of cosmic Truth, justice, order and harmony. She represents balance, which Sekhmet comes to help restore.

Beloved Sacred Art & Music Festival

Mark and I are hoping to be in shape to go to Illumination, however I shall absolutely be at Beloved, our favorite Sacred Arts and Music Festival at the same venue Thursday August 8 to Monday, August 12. I will be speaking at 6:30pm Thursday evening, sharing a class I call Spontaneous Evolution with Shamanism and Alchemy, including singer-songwriter Alexa MacDonald. Although there are no tickets left for this year, you need to know about this, and those on my list who are going need to know I will be doing my main workshop on Thursday, as the official opening is Friday morning. I have another surprise for you on Friday night.

Exploring the Great Work: An Egyptian Mysteries Retreat

Please keep Egypt in your prayers. We still have a full tour set for October, and are praying every day for a stable government to emerge. There is no place like Egypt to do the planetary Healing work, however we do have a fully consecrated (although hidden) temple here at my home/center, where Normandi Ellis and I will be offering our mostly annual Egyptian Mysteries Retreat September 19-23. We have discovered that because we are staying in one place throughout, we can hold our focus and go more deeply than we could have imagined when we started building the temple and exploring the mysteries back in the &lsquo90s.
